Conestoga Day Camp is a volunteer-run day camp located at Camp Liberty, 4415 295th Street, New Liberty, IA 52765. Its focus is to provide girls with outdoor experiences and skills. Fire-building, outdoor cooking, and knife safety are just a few of the things the girls will experience while at camp. Leave-No-Trace and the Girl Scout Way are emphasized for low-impact on our environment.
Here are examples of some of the things that the girls have listed on their evaluations, that they learned at Day Camp:
Cadettes: How to use a hobo stove, retire a flag, leave no trace, pack lightly for a backpacking trip, pitch a tent, zip line, use a compound bow, and other outdoor skills.
Juniors: How to tie knots, make bracelets, knife safety, build a fire (“A” frame), make candles, make pie iron pizzas, and use a GPS.
Daisies and Brownies: Make new friends, how to build a fire, tie a knot, use a knife, and plan and cook a meal outdoors.
